Aix-en-Provence, France

29.08.13

Aix is another wonderful city that could be explored more thoroughly.  We jumped on the "Diabline" and took a quick tour of the pedestrian area.  These photos give you a good idea of what we see as we bounce around the cobbled streets.   Our impression is that it's a university town, lots of young people, also lots of tourists, and a thriving city.  Too big for our liking but great to explore.

We stayed at Le Bleu Pourpre, a hotel about 11 km outside of Aix.  It was quiet and quirky, but we thought it was far to drive into town and find appropriate parking, so we ate at the hotel, in a restaurant that had painted cows in the middle.

Our room was behind the big cow, where you can see a hint of Karl coming through the door.

Karl leaving in the morning.
